Playboy’s “The Christian Lives of Porn Stars” examines how you can be in the industry and still be religious. Basically, porn isn’t against their religion but part of it. Christy Love discusses how the industry challenged her assumptions about people and how many in adult entertainment didn’t fit the stereotype. In actuality, they’re regular people with families, dreams, struggles, and stories. Her experiences in the industry deepened her faith and forced her to see beyond labels and see people with passion and dignity, just as she believes Jesus saw people. Even more profoundly, Christy doesn’t see sex as dirty or shameful but as part of being human, and viewing porn is not an addiction.
The piece also includes Zariah Aura, Courtney Tillia, Fuck Buck, Griselda Venum, and Dr. Kelsy Burke, a sociology professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
